Americans impacted by a major data breach involving Enzo Biochem have just weeks left to claim their share of a $7.5 million settlement. Eligible victims can receive up to $10,000 in compensation if they submit a claim by the deadline.
What happened with the Enzo Biochem breach?
In 2023, Enzo Biochem, a healthcare diagnostics provider, suffered a cyberattack that compromised sensitive patient data. Affected information included personal and financial details, sparking a class action lawsuit against the company.
While Enzo Biochem has not admitted wrongdoing, the company agreed to settle and implement stronger security measures like encryption, multi-factor authentication, and enhanced intrusion detection systems.
Who qualifies for a settlement payout?
You are eligible if you received a mailed notice from Enzo Biochem stating your information “may have been compromised” in the April 6, 2023, breach.
Eligible class members can:
- File a claim for a pro rata cash payment without submitting any proof of damages.
- Claim up to $10,000 by submitting documentation such as a bank statement, credit card bill, police report, or receipts showing fraud-related expenses.
All claimants also receive two years of free credit monitoring and identity theft insurance through Medical Shield Premium.
