Steuben County drivers will face detours this May as road and bridge work shuts down key routes in the town of Canisteo, according to the county Department of Public Works.
Starting May 12, County Route 21 (Canisteo Rathbone Road) will close for about eight weeks while crews repair the bridge over Spalding Hollow. A detour will be posted between State Route 36 and County Route 30.
Separately, County Route 128 (Canisteo Center Road) will be closed for two days—May 13 and 14—for a pipe replacement. That stretch, from Depot Street to Burt Hill Road, will have no on-site detour.
