The Rochester Americans are heading to the North Division Finals for the third time in four years after a dominant 4-0 win over the Syracuse Crunch on Thursday night, completing a clean sweep of their division rivals.
Mason Jobst led the way with two goals, while Devon Levi continued his stellar postseason run with his second straight shutout, stopping all 30 shots he faced. Kale Clague added a goal and an assist, and Brendan Warren capped the night with an empty-netter.
After trailing 2-0 in the second period of Game 1, Rochester flipped the script, scoring the next 11 goals of the series and shutting out the Crunch for the final 156 minutes and 31 seconds.
Levi, who paced the AHL in shutouts during the regular season, joined elite company as just the third goaltender in franchise history to post back-to-back playoff shutouts.
The Amerks now await the winner of the Laval-Cleveland series for a shot at the Calder Cup semifinals.
