Road crews are hitting the streets across Tompkins County as officials prepare to resurface over 80 miles of pavement this year, according to the county’s chip seal and paving draft maps.
The 2025 plan includes resurfacing roads across Ithaca, Enfield, and Danby, with key stretches such as Kraft, Sheffield, and South Danby Roads marked for chip sealing. The work is part of a broader maintenance effort to extend asphalt life using cost-effective treatments.
Residents are urged to stay safe near work zones and sign up for Tompkins SIREN alerts for updates. While 58 miles will be chip sealed, just under 25 miles are slated for full paving.
