An active investigation involving the Westhill Boys Varsity lacrosse team is underway, according to the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office. District Attorney Bill Fitzpatrick confirmed to NewsChannel 9 that the case has been referred to authorities, though no details have been released about the nature of the incident.
Westhill Superintendent Steve Dunham said the district began working with law enforcement after receiving concerns from parents. He explained that the incident happened off school grounds, outside school hours, and outside the district’s jurisdiction.
The district is currently collaborating with the Sheriff’s Office to determine the next steps while the investigation continues.
