Regional Transit Service celebrated the grand opening of its new 14,000-square-foot facility in Waterloo with a ribbon cutting on Thursday, according to RTS. The move will support safer, more reliable operations starting Monday, April 28, and features amenities to improve bus maintenance and customer service.
The $7.5 million project took 22 months to complete and includes indoor parking for 10 buses, a vehicle wash bay, administrative offices, a dual-purpose break and training room, rooftop solar panels, and a public EV charging station.
RTS CEO Miguel Velázquez praised the collaboration between local, state, and federal partners for making the transportation center a reality for Seneca County riders.
