The Town of Geneva has achieved Bronze Certification as a Climate Smart Community, joining a statewide effort to reduce emissions and promote environmental resilience, according to the Finger Lakes Times. This recognition reflects the town’s progress in implementing green policies and infrastructure upgrades.
To reach bronze status, Geneva established a sustainability task force and coordinator, then earned points through actions like energy reduction and renewable energy projects. One major step includes a planned solar installation expected to save $10,000 annually.
Supervisor Mark Venuti credited recent grants totaling $250,000 and praised the local team for driving Geneva’s environmental leadership.
