A Geneva man was taken into custody early Wednesday after a traffic stop revealed he was intoxicated and driving with a suspended license.
The Waterloo Police Department reported the arrest of Edwin E. Viera, 38, at approximately 3:19 a.m. on April 23. Viera was charged with Driving While Intoxicated with a blood alcohol content over 0.08% and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the 3rd degree.
According to police, officers stopped Viera after observing a series of traffic violations. Authorities allege he was parked in a travel lane for an extended period before proceeding to drive without keeping to the right and making a turn without signaling.
An investigation determined that Viera had a BAC of 0.09% and was operating the vehicle with a suspended New York State non-driver identification card.
Officers issued Viera multiple Uniform Traffic Tickets for the charges and violations. He is scheduled to appear in the Town of Waterloo Court at a later date.
