A Dansville woman was arrested in Bath after police discovered narcotics during a traffic stop on April 14, according to the Village of Bath Police Department.

Officers pulled over a sedan on Liberty Street after noticing it had insufficient tail lamps. During the stop, patrols observed behaviors that led to a consent search of the vehicle. Police say they found narcotics inside a lock box.

A police K9 named Bud was brought to the scene and alerted to additional narcotics. The driver, identified as 46-year-old Desiree Stratton, consented to opening another compartment, where more narcotics were found.

Police later determined Stratton’s driver’s license was suspended in New York. She was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the third degree, insufficient or no tail lamps, and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree—a class A misdemeanor.

Stratton was released on appearance tickets.
