A serious crash shut down Route 96B on Ithaca’s South Hill Monday morning, sending one person to a regional trauma center via Guthrie Air, according to the Ithaca Fire Department. The incident occurred near the 900 block of Danby Road around 8:30 a.m.

Multiple agencies responded, including Bangs Ambulance, the Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office, and Ithaca College Police. Others involved in the crash were treated at Cayuga Medical Center. The road was temporarily closed at the entrance to Ithaca College.

Officials thanked drivers for their patience during the brief closure as emergency crews cleared the scene.
