Gov. Hochul to Address Budget Delay in Rochester

  • / Updated:
  • Staff Report

Governor Kathy Hochul will visit Foodlink in Rochester on Monday to discuss the 2025 State of the State Affordability Agenda and ongoing state budget talks. Lawmakers recently approved a fifth short-term budget extension, with no final deal yet in place.

Though the budget was due April 1, negotiations have stretched into late April. In a recent interview, Hochul said discussions were nearing completion but may need another week. Key sticking points include proposed changes to New York’s discovery laws.

The visit is part of Hochul’s effort to highlight affordability measures while navigating one of the state’s most delayed budget cycles in recent years.
