Bottleland, a new boutique wine and spirits shop, is thrilled to announce its grand opening at 162 William Street in the heart of Geneva, New York. Owned and operated by a dynamic mother-daughter duo, Bottleland hopes to become a premier destination for wine enthusiasts and spirits connoisseurs in the Finger Lakes region.
Bottleland’s mission is to bring the world of wine and spirits closer to home through its carefully curated selection of international and domestic wines, as well as local spirits. The shop will showcase an ever-rotating lineup of unique and diverse wines, with a particular emphasis on small producers, minimal intervention winemaking, sustainability, and labels created by women and people of color. This thoughtful approach aims to celebrate diversity and craftsmanship in every bottle.
Located in the vibrant community of Geneva, guests can expect a welcoming atmosphere where they can discover new favorites, learn about wine and spirits, and enjoy personalized recommendations from a knowledgeable team.
Owner Anna Popermhem is an experienced restaurateur, having owned and operated several restaurants in New York City over the course of 20+ years and has her Level 2 certified with the Wine and Spirits Education Trust (WSET). Her daughter, Giorgia moved to Geneva 3.5 years ago, and is WSET 3 certified with experience in nearly every facet of the wine industry, from hospitality and retail, to marketing and production, and was most recently Cellar Manager at Six Eighty Cellars in Romulus, NY.
“Our goal is to make wine approachable for everyone- our focus is on educating the public not just on the wine in the bottle, but on the story behind it” says co-owner Giorgia Popermhem, “we plan to stock our shelves with delicious wines that range from playful to contemplative, passing exceptional value on to customers with products that inspire and delight.”
Bottleland is committed to creating meaningful connections with the community through educational classes, a local wine club and events. Our grand opening provides the perfect introduction, as well as an opportunity to meet with local producers and sample a few of our offerings.
