Driver Charged With DWI After Ovid Crash

A 73-year-old man was arrested for driving while intoxicated following a two-vehicle crash in the Town of Ovid, according to the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies arrested Robert Congdon of Hall Road after responding to a property damage accident at the intersection of County Road 129 and Center Road at 7:21 p.m. on April 18.

Investigators determined that Congdon had been operating his vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. He was charged with two misdemeanors: driving while intoxicated under common law and driving with a blood alcohol content of .08 percent or higher.

No injuries were reported as a result of the crash.

Congdon is scheduled to appear in the Town of Ovid Court on June 17 at 10:00 a.m. to answer the charges.
