A 23-year-old Allegany man faces multiple charges after crashing his pickup truck and leaving the scene in the Town of Italy, according to the Yates County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to the single-vehicle crash on Italy Valley Road at 5:47 a.m. on April 13. The investigation found that Wesley T. Quattrone was driving south when he failed to navigate a curve, causing the vehicle to leave the road and hit a ditch and several trees.
Authorities said a firearm was found unsecured inside the vehicle, and a forged identification card was recovered at the scene. Quattrone was later arrested and charged with first-degree failure to safely store firearms, third-degree possession of a forged instrument, leaving the scene of a property damage accident, speed not reasonable and prudent, and moving from a lane unsafely.
The Naples Fire Department and Penn Yan Ambulance assisted deputies at the scene. Quattrone was issued an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in Town of Italy Court at a later date.
