Runners from across the region will gather in the historic birthplace of women’s rights on Mother’s Day weekend to honor women’s achievements through a spirited community race.
The Right to Run 5K Race Event returns on Saturday, May 10, beginning at 9 a.m. at the National Women’s Hall of Fame. The annual event promotes physical fitness, empowerment, and unity while celebrating the legacy of women’s progress. The race invites all participants—from competitive runners to casual walkers—to join in honoring the movement for gender equality.
“This race represents the power of moving forward together,” said Daniele Bonafiglia, Race Director at Right to Run 19K Inc. “We hope to inspire all participants to embrace their strength, both individually and as a community.”

The course winds past landmarks such as Elizabeth Cady Stanton’s home and the “When Anthony Met Stanton” statues, creating a powerful connection between the event and the region’s historic role in the women’s rights movement. Race day will feature local vendors, cheering spectators, and special discounts at nearby shops and eateries.
The event also highlights a new partnership with the Sports Bra Project, a nonprofit that provides new sports bras to women and girls in underserved communities. A donation drive will be held during packet pick-up, scheduled for Friday, May 9 from 4:00–5:30 p.m. and Saturday, May 10 from 7:30–8:45 a.m.
Registration is $36, with more details available at righttorun19k.org. This year’s title sponsor is The Empowerment Project, an organization dedicated to building confidence and joy in young people. Other sponsors include Waterloo Container, Goulds Pumps ITT, Northeast College of Health Sciences, Finger Lakes Farms, and Wegmans.
