The Newark Public Library will host a screening of Watching Walter, an award-winning short film by California filmmaker Mark Brown, on April 30. The documentary honors Holocaust survivor Wladyslaw “Walter” Wojnas, a Polish émigré and skilled watchmaker.

Wojnas’ legacy lives on through the contents of his watch shop, now housed at the library’s Hoffman Clock Museum. The film explores his life and enduring impact, and will also be featured at the George Eastman House International Film Festival on May 1.

The screening runs from 1 to 2:30 p.m. in the library’s Community Room.
