Spring has arrived in the Finger Lakes, and wine lovers are in for a seasonal treat. The Cayuga Lake Wine Trail is hosting its annual Wine & Herb event across two weekends: April 25–27 and May 2–4, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.
The event invites visitors to explore ten local wineries, sample expertly paired food and wine, and collect potted herbs and vegetables at each stop. Organizers say it’s the perfect way to welcome warmer weather—with a glass in hand and a garden in the making.
“Wine & Herb is one of those events that captures everything special about spring on the Cayuga Lake Wine Trail,” said Katherine Chase, Executive Director of the Cayuga Lake Wine Trail. “You’re tasting incredible wine and food pairings, collecting plants for your garden, and spending a day soaking up the best of what our region has to offer. It’s a celebration of community, flavor, and the beauty of the season.”
Each ticket includes one food and wine pairing per winery, three additional tastings, a potted plant at each stop, a recipe collection, and a souvenir wine glass—or a travel mug for designated drivers. Featured plants this year include onion chive, thyme, cilantro, bell pepper, oregano, parsley, basil, tomato, marjoram, and dill.
Tickets are available now, with prices set at $65 for singles, $95 for couples, and $45 for designated drivers. The trail’s ten participating wineries include Americana Vineyards, Buttonwood Grove Winery, Cayuga Ridge Estate Winery, Hosmer Winery, Knapp Winery, Lucas Vineyards, Montezuma Winery, Six Mile Creek Winery, Swedish Hill Winery, and Thirsty Owl Wine Co.
Event organizers encourage attendees to bring their enthusiasm—and perhaps a basket for their growing collection of herbs. “Come for the wine, stay for the herbs, and leave with inspiration for your garden, your kitchen, and your next get-together,” reads the event announcement.
