Auburn police arrested a man after multiple victims reported over $6,000 in stolen property from the Holiday Inn.
The suspect, identified as Travis Ryan, was taken into custody on April 13 following a brief foot chase. Officers were called to the hotel on April 11 at approximately 11:30 a.m. to investigate a reported larceny. The thefts occurred around 12:30 a.m. the same day.
Authorities reviewed statements and video footage and reached out to other agencies to identify the suspect. The New York State Police later contacted Auburn officers, confirming Ryan had been involved in a similar complaint outside the city. On April 13, Holiday Inn staff informed officers that Ryan had returned to the hotel, prompting their response and pursuit.
Ryan was processed at Auburn Police Department headquarters and then transported to Cayuga County Jail. He was held pending arraignment.
He faces charges of third-degree burglary, third-degree grand larceny—both D felonies—and resisting arrest, a misdemeanor.
