Finger Lakes Weekly Weather: Rain, Wind, and Even Snow Possible by Midweek

Spring weather in the Finger Lakes with rain, snow, and clouds over a lake

The weather in the Finger Lakes will be anything but predictable this week, with rain, strong winds, and even snow expected by midweek.

Monday: Mild Temps and Afternoon Rain

Monday will start calm, but expect scattered showers to develop after 2 p.m. Skies will stay mostly cloudy, with highs near 62 degrees. Winds from the south will pick up throughout the day, reaching speeds up to 14 mph.

Light rain continues into the evening hours, with a 50% chance of showers before 2 a.m. Overnight lows will dip to around 44 degrees as winds shift west.

Tuesday into Wednesday: Cold Front Brings Snow Threat

Tuesday marks a major change. Temperatures will struggle to reach 50 degrees, and west winds could gust over 30 mph. Showers are likely, especially after 2 p.m., with increasing intensity by evening.

By late Tuesday night, the region could see a mix of rain and snow. After midnight, snow showers become more likely, particularly at higher elevations. Overnight lows are expected around 32 degrees.

Snow continues into Wednesday morning, potentially mixing with rain by late morning. While accumulations will be minimal, the sudden drop in temperature and strong winds—gusting to 32 mph—will make for a blustery midweek.

Late Week: Drying Out, Slowly

The sun will return Thursday, with mostly sunny skies and a high near 48. Winds will ease, and conditions will improve into Friday—though more showers could move in by the weekend.

Friday looks partly sunny with a chance of rain and a high near 60. Showers are likely Friday night, with more possible on Saturday. Highs will sit in the upper 50s.

Planning Ahead?

Whether you’re visiting wineries, hitting the trails, or traveling across the region — be prepared for changing conditions. Layers, waterproof gear, and patience will go a long way this week in the Finger Lakes.
