Trade Design Build, an Ithaca-based integrated architecture and construction firm, has purchased a facility located at 1520 Trumansburg Road, Ithaca, NY 14850. The company plans to renovate the newly acquired building, which will serve as its office location.

This purchase will enable Trade, offering architecture, construction, and woodworking services, to provide better streamlined services and enhanced accessibility for its clients in Ithaca and the surrounding areas.

“This will allow us to leverage the interaction between the Design, Construction, and Shop teams and truly deliver on our mission of integrating design and construction,” said Mike Barnoski, partner at Trade.

Utilizing the property’s two buildings, Trade will use the 10,000 square-foot facility that sits on the property’s upper portion for its construction services and new woodshop. The 5,000 square-foot building on the property’s lower portion will serve as a new architecture and design studio, as well as a showroom for casework and furniture designs.

Renovations to the property’s upper portion facility will allow for tool and material storage, offsite construction production, and training facilities, according to Chris Willett, partner at Trade. Other aesthetic renovations will be made to the lower building’s exterior.

“It has long been the dream to have a campus that the three pillars of the company can call home,” said Willett. “Working together in a facility that can support the collaboration and creativity of the team is paramount for the success of Trade, and we couldn’t be more excited to see this dream come true.”

Trade will announce an open house to the public later this year.
