A driver was arrested for driving while intoxicated after deputies say he crossed over the median and failed to use proper turn signals.

Seneca County Sheriff Tim Thompson said deputies arrested 50-year-old John S. Halsey of Ovid just after midnight Thursday during a traffic stop in the Town of Ovid.

According to the sheriff’s office, deputies observed Halsey’s vehicle moving erratically before pulling it over. After administering field sobriety tests, they arrested Halsey for DWI. He later submitted to a breath test that showed a blood alcohol content of 0.12%.

Halsey was charged with misdemeanor driving while intoxicated and other unspecified traffic violations. He was released on an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in Ovid Town Court on June 17.
