A man wanted on multiple warrants was arrested Wednesday morning during a coordinated law enforcement operation in Seneca Falls.
John J. Walters, 47, was taken into custody without incident at a home on Lincoln Avenue following a two-month investigation. The Town of Seneca Falls Police Department executed a search warrant at 11 Lincoln Avenue at approximately 8:45 a.m. in an effort to locate Walters, who was wanted on five outstanding bench warrants.
Authorities said the warrants stem from various courts and included charges such as falsifying business records, possession of a forged instrument, possession of a controlled substance, and petit larceny. Specifically, the Seneca County Court issued warrants for two counts of falsifying business records in the first degree, one count of possession of a forged instrument in the first degree, one count of criminal use of drug paraphernalia in the second degree, one count of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fourth degree, and two counts of petit larceny.
Additional warrants from the Town of Seneca Falls Court included two counts of petit larceny for failure to appear. The Town of Webster Court also issued a warrant for one count of petit larceny.
Following his arrest, Walters was charged with bail jumping in the second and third degrees. No injuries were reported during the execution of the search warrant.
Walters was processed and transported to the Seneca County Correctional Facility, where he awaits arraignment.
