New tariffs on imported goods are stirring concern among coffee shop owners and customers, with prices expected to rise soon, according to WHAM.
At Finger Lakes Coffee Roasters in Pittsford, CEO Gary Andalora says the timing is tough—coffee bean prices are already at a 50-year high due to poor weather in key producing countries. Brazil now faces a 10% tariff, while Vietnam’s rate jumps to 46%.
With higher costs looming, shop owners may be forced to raise prices. Industry groups warn the tariffs could disrupt an $8 billion import economy that supports millions of U.S. jobs.
