Pete Alonso drove in four runs as the New York Mets (8-3) rolled past the Miami Marlins (5-6), 10-5, on a blustery Tuesday evening at Citi Field for their sixth straight win.

Clay Holmes battled tough conditions in his second start, giving up two runs in the first after a wind-blown fly ball and back-to-back walks set the stage for a two-run single. Despite the rocky start, Holmes found a groove, striking out a career-high 10 batters. He exited in the sixth after allowing five hits, three walks, and four earned runs over 5.1 innings.

The Mets’ offense picked him up, led by Alonso’s clutch sixth-inning, bases-clearing double after Miami intentionally walked Juan Soto. Alonso finished 2-for-4 with a walk, while Soto went 2-for-4 with a walk and two runs to extend his on-base streak to 11 games.

Francisco Lindor opened the game with a solo home run and later added a sac fly, marking his seventh straight game with a hit. Brandon Nimmo had a go-ahead two-run double in the fifth, and Starling Marte chipped in with a two-run bloop single.

Aside from one shaky inning from Huascar Brazoban, the bullpen remained dominant. A.J. Minter, Danny Young, and Reed Garrett combined for two hitless innings to seal the win.
