Victor zoning board to weigh garage variance request at hearing

The Victor Zoning Board of Appeals will hold a public hearing Monday to review a variance request for a detached garage on North Road. The hearing will begin at 7 p.m. at Victor Town Hall, 85 East Main Street.

The application under consideration comes from Brendan and Lauren Harriff, who are seeking permission to place a 28-by-35-foot garage in front of their home at 7600 North Road.

Current town zoning law prohibits accessory structures, such as garages, from being located forward of the primary residence. According to the legal notice, the proposed garage would sit 38 feet from the centerline of the road and just 5 feet from the property line.

The property is located in the Residential 2 zoning district, which has specific setback and placement requirements designed to maintain neighborhood character and spacing.

Zoning Board Chairman Michael Reinhardt will preside over the hearing, which is open to public comment. The board will consider the variance request and any community input before making a decision.
