Seneca Falls man violates court order, new stay-away order issued

A report of a domestic disturbance led police in Seneca Falls to arrest a man on Friday after he was found in violation of a court-issued order of protection.

Patrick J. Wheeler, 31, of Branchport, was taken into custody around 4:47 p.m. on April 4. Police say Wheeler contacted and was in the presence of a protected individual, despite a stay-away order that barred such interaction.

The incident occurred at a residence in the Town of Seneca Falls. Officers responding to the scene determined that Wheeler’s actions breached the terms of the protective order.

He was charged with one count of criminal contempt in the second degree, a class A misdemeanor. After being processed, Wheeler was transported to the Seneca County Correctional Facility, where he awaits arraignment.

Police have requested a new order of protection on behalf of the victim.
