Savannah to host second annual Native American artifact show

The Montezuma Audubon Center in Savannah will once again open its doors to history lovers as the Savannah Artifact Club hosts its second annual Native American Artifact Show on Sunday, April 27. The free event runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and promises hands-on displays, educational exhibits, and expert evaluations of local finds.

Returning after a successful debut last year, the show highlights ancient Native American tools such as arrowheads, spearpoints, and pipes—many of them thousands of years old. Collectors from across the Finger Lakes will showcase items that honor the skill and ingenuity of Indigenous peoples.

This year’s event offers visitors a rare chance to examine stone tools up close and learn how they were crafted and used. Attendees are also invited to bring their own artifacts for free evaluation, making the show not just a display but an interactive experience rooted in local history.

Organizers say last year’s show drew enthusiastic crowds, especially families interested in exploring the region’s rich archaeological past. With expanded exhibits and growing interest, this year’s event aims to deepen community engagement with the area’s Native heritage.

The Montezuma Audubon Center is located at 2295 State Route 89 in Savannah. Admission is free and open to all ages.
