A group aiming to purchase the former Wells College campus for $10.7 million will present its vision publicly next week, according to The Citizen.
The Hiawatha Institute for Indigenous Knowledge and historic preservation firm Grande Venues plan to transform the site into an Indigenous college, senior housing, and a satellite campus for another institution.
The proposal will be outlined by institute president Les Lo Baugh at a public meeting on April 7 in Springport. The 127-acre Aurora campus was listed for sale following the college’s 2024 closure.
Regulatory approval, including from the state attorney general, is required before any sale can be finalized.
