Rachel Ostlund, an Ithaca native and small business owner, is running unopposed for the Democratic nomination in Tompkins County’s newly redistricted District 16, which covers parts of Ulysses and Enfield, according to The Ithaca Voice.
Motivated by national political instability, Ostlund says she hopes to address local issues like food insecurity and homelessness using long-term, community-focused solutions.
A stay-at-home parent and founder of Kinship & Company, she’s also known for her past ventures and volunteer work with No Más Lágrimas.
A primary is scheduled for June 24.
