Lyons Central School’s Tim Carr created a memorable night for 11th-grade U.S. History students by hosting a historical movie screening and exhibit. Held in the Earl Buchanan Auditorium, the event featured personal artifacts, including a World War I gas mask from Carr’s own family.
The Times of Wayne County reports over 40 students attended, many after sports or activities, and were treated to popcorn from a local theater. In a show of respect, students voluntarily surrendered their phones to stay engaged during the film, showcasing the event’s impact.
Superintendent Matt Barr praised Carr’s commitment to enriching student learning beyond the classroom. The school remains focused on offering experiences that make history personal, engaging, and unforgettable.
