Auditions for Love or Murder: The Sampson Mystery, the first play by columnist Gary Xavier, will be held April 1–2 at the Waterloo Library from 6–8 p.m.

Set at the historic Sampson Naval Training Station, the three-act mystery spans 1943 to 1993 and blends military life with civilian intrigue. Xavier wrote, produced, and will direct the play, supported by a team of local creatives. Roles are open to men and women ages 17–50.

The play premieres at Waterloo’s Lafayette Theater in late May and early June. Interested actors can contact Xavier for more details.
