Geneva Rotary Club to host Service Above Self Gala on April 5

The Geneva Rotary Club will host its annual Service Above Self Gala on Saturday, April 5, at Ventosa Vineyards, celebrating community service and honoring local leaders. This year’s theme, “The Magic of Rotary,” will feature professional magician Bill Gormont as emcee, along with an evening of awards, auctions, and entertainment.

The highlight of the event will be the presentation of the Geneva Rotary Service Above Self Springstead Award. This year’s recipients, the Rev. James Adams and Sue Adams, are being recognized for their decades of service to St. Peter’s Episcopal Church and their leadership in community programs like the St. Peter’s Community Arts Academy and Neighbors Night.

For the first time, the gala will also honor a Community Organization of the Year. The inaugural award will go to The Second Impact, founded by former professional boxer Ray Ciancaglini, which promotes concussion awareness and provides support for those affected by head injuries.

Additionally, select individuals will receive the Rotary International Paul Harris Fellow Award, one of Rotary’s highest honors, recognizing their contributions to community service and the Rotary Foundation.

Hobart and William Smith Colleges President Mark Gearan will serve as the featured speaker for the evening. Guests can also participate in a live auction featuring prizes such as a helicopter ride for two, a Henry rifle, and dinner at FLX Table, as well as a wine pull.

Tickets for the gala are $100 per person and are available at genevarotaryclub.org. Sponsorship opportunities are also available.
