LIVE TONIGHT: Seneca supervisors to discuss infrastructure, public safety tonight (webcast)

The Seneca County Board of Supervisors will hold a series of committee meetings Tuesday evening to review proposals on infrastructure, public safety, and government operations.

Among the items on the agenda is a resolution to apply for a New York State Wastewater Infrastructure Engineering Planning Grant, which could provide up to $50,000 to assess sewer system upgrades. Supervisors will also consider extending tax roll agreements with local school districts and villages, as well as approving the second phase of a statewide indigent legal services reform grant.

In public safety matters, the Sheriff’s Department is seeking approval to trade in used firearms, and supervisors will review a proposal to hire an Assistant District Attorney at an elevated salary to fill a long-vacant position.

Additionally, the Public Works Committee will discuss bridge repairs and vehicle purchases, while the Human Resources Committee will introduce a proposed update to the county’s hotel occupancy tax.

The meetings begin at 6 p.m. at the County Office Building in Waterloo.
