A Bath woman has been arrested on felony burglary and criminal contempt charges following an investigation into a violation of an order of protection, according to the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies arrested Amanda L. Smith, 33, of State Route 415, on March 21 after she allegedly entered a residence unlawfully with the intent to commit a crime. Authorities say her actions violated a court-issued order of protection.

Smith has been charged with burglary in the second degree, a class C felony, and criminal contempt in the second degree. She was arraigned in the Centralized Arraignment Court and remanded to the Steuben County Jail on $500 bail.

Sheriff Jim Allard credited the Bath Village Police Department for assisting in the arrest and investigation.
