  • Staff Report

The City of Geneva Green Committee and its partners will host Mission Zero 4, a community event focused on sustainable living, on April 26 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Geneva Recreation Complex. The event brings together local organizations, vendors, and residents to explore innovative ways to reduce environmental impact and live in harmony with the Earth.

Mission Zero 4 will feature over 30 earth-friendly vendors and activities for all ages. Highlights include a sapling giveaway by the Geneva Shade Tree Commission, a Fix-it & Sewing Clinic for small item repairs, and demonstrations on solar energy for homes and businesses. Attendees can also explore electric vehicles, including bikes, cars, and trucks designed to lower transportation costs and carbon footprints.

The event will offer hands-on experiences, such as seed bomb making, face painting, and poster creation for children. Visitors can learn about reducing home energy costs through heat pumps and insulation, as well as lake-friendly living and yard care practices.

In addition to interactive presentations, booths will provide information on renewable energy options in the Finger Lakes, geothermal heating, composting, recycling, and locally grown produce. The event is held in celebration of both Earth Day and Arbor Day, reinforcing Geneva’s commitment to environmental conservation.
