Cayuga County Sheriff Brian Schenck has announced the arrest of an Auburn man following a domestic violence incident in the Town of Fleming.
Deputies arrested Justin K. Nwajei, 33, on March 20, charging him with criminal mischief in the fourth degree, a misdemeanor, and aggravated family offense, a felony. The charges stem from an incident on March 15, when deputies were dispatched to West Lake Road near the traffic circle at approximately 9:37 a.m.
Investigators determined that Nwajei had been involved in a domestic dispute with a female victim and allegedly kicked and damaged the door to her residence. Due to his prior criminal convictions, he was charged with the felony offense in addition to the criminal mischief charge.
Nwajei was arraigned in CAP Court and remanded to the Cayuga County Jail without bail. Authorities noted that he is currently on parole after being released from state prison in December 2024.
