Seneca Lake Resorts is kicking off its 2025 season with fresh leadership, a springtime celebration, and the promise of another summer packed with scenic adventure in the heart of the Finger Lakes.
The resort, operated by Sessler Co., announced the hiring of Michael Griffith as General Manager and Lauren Powers as Marketing Manager. Both bring deep ties to the region and a shared passion for enhancing the guest experience at one of the area’s most popular lakefront destinations.
Griffith, whose hospitality roots include leadership roles at Cornell University and the Watkins Glen Harbor Hotel, arrives with a resume spanning operations, culinary arts, and event planning. Originally from Pennsylvania, he moved to the Finger Lakes after a visit to Nashville led him to Cornell—and ultimately, a permanent home in the region. As General Manager, he will oversee daily resort operations, team management, and guest services.
Powers, a Trumansburg native, will lead the resort’s marketing efforts. With a background in both private and public sector marketing and an MBA from Canisius College, she aims to elevate the resort’s brand and highlight its wide-ranging offerings—from cabins and RV sites to mini-golf and marina amenities.
The resort will officially open for its seventh season on April 25 within Sampson State Park. Visitors can enjoy cabin and pontoon rentals, scenic RV sites, a miniature golf course, and two marinas—including a fuel-equipped ship store at Sampson.
To usher in the season, Seneca Lake Resorts will host a family-friendly Easter Egg Hunt on April 19 at The Vista. The event begins at 1 p.m. and includes crafts, prizes, a dog treat hunt, and an appearance by the Easter Bunny. Guests will also have a chance to meet Griffith and Powers.
