Canandaigua man charged with DWI after early-morning traffic stop

A 23-year-old Canandaigua man is facing charges after deputies say he was driving while intoxicated early Saturday morning in the Town of Canandaigua.

Julian K. Mantione, of Bristol Street, was arrested at approximately 2:26 a.m. on March 22 following a traffic stop at the intersection of State Route 332 and North Street, according to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies say the stop led to an investigation that revealed Mantione was impaired. He was taken to the Ontario County Jail, where a Datamaster test showed his blood alcohol concentration was .08 percent—the legal limit in New York.

Mantione was charged with driving while intoxicated and for stopping or parking on a highway. He was processed and issued uniform traffic tickets before being released. He is scheduled to appear in Canandaigua Town Court at a later date.
