The manslaughter trial of Jarrid Mix continues today as testimony enters its fourth day in Ontario County Court.
On Thursday, jurors heard from two witnesses: former Geneva Police Chief Matthew Colton and pediatric surgeon Dr. Nicole Wilson. Colton recounted his 2022 interview with Mix, during which he said Mix appeared nervous and offered no explanation for injuries found on 2-year-old Parker Rivera. Wilson testified that Parker’s condition pointed to trauma, including holes in his small intestine, before his death on Sept. 9, 2022.
The defense argues the cause of death is undetermined and cites possible medical malpractice. Testimony will resume this morning.
