A five-year term on the Hornell Board of Education will be on the ballot when district voters head to the polls on May 20. The seat is currently held by Brian May, who was elected in 2023 to complete an unexpired term.
To run, candidates must be district residents and collect signatures from 100 qualified voters. Petition packets are available from the district clerk starting March 18, with a submission deadline of April 30 at 5 p.m. The elected candidate will serve from July 1, 2025, to June 30, 2030.
The seven-member board oversees district policies and the annual budget vote, which takes place alongside the election at Hornell High School. Residents interested in running can contact the district clerk for more details.
