Canandaigua man charged with DWI after car found in ditch

A Canandaigua man was arrested for driving while intoxicated late Sunday night after deputies discovered his vehicle in a ditch on County Road 46.

According to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the scene around 11:01 p.m. on March 16 and found a 2017 Chevrolet Equinox off the roadway. The driver, identified as 35-year-old Anthony J. McDonald of Jefferson Avenue, was taken into custody following an investigation.


McDonald was charged with DWI and issued a ticket for failure to keep right. He is scheduled to appear before the Canandaigua Town Court at a later date.

The arrest was made by Deputy Outhouse, with assistance from Deputy Duliba and Trooper Carey.
