Auburn invests $2.2M in roads, saves for bridge project

  • / Updated:
  • Staff Report

Auburn will spend over $2.2 million on road improvements this year while setting aside funds for the $8.4 million Lake Avenue bridge project, scheduled for 2026. The Citizen reports the city will repave seven streets in the southwest quadrant and allocate funds for equipment upgrades and microsurfacing.

Severe winter weather has worsened road conditions, with major thoroughfares like the Arterial and North Street in need of repairs.

The city has $4.3 million in available funds, including $3.5 million from state programs, and plans to roll over $2 million into next year to help fund future projects.
