ORIGINAL REPORT: Popular Sodus bar and grill destroyed in overnight fire
A well-known Wayne County bar and grill was destroyed by an overnight fire between Friday and Saturday. Multiple departments from around Wayne County were called to the scene near the intersection of Ridge and North Centenary roads in Sodus.
Intense flames engulfed Adam’s Rascals Bar and Grill, a popular stop in the Sodus area, after the fire broke out in the early morning hours. Strong winds caused the fire to spread quickly, leaving little chance of saving the structure.

Fire crews from Sodus, Wallington, East Williamson, and Williamson fire departments responded around 2:30 a.m. and worked for hours to bring the blaze under control. Despite their efforts, the building was deemed a total loss by sunrise.
The owner of the bar shared an emotional message on social media, expressing gratitude to the firefighters who responded and to the patrons who had become like family over the years. “It’s with a heavy heart that I’m making this post,” the owner wrote. “My deepest gratitude goes out to all the firefighters who were there in the blink of an eye … you all worked tirelessly to put out the fire.”

The bar had been a fixture in the community for years, changing hands multiple times, most recently under the current owner’s leadership for the past six and a half years. While the future remains uncertain, the owner thanked the community for their support, saying, “I do not know what the future may hold right now, but I do know I have been blessed with having so many people that I love and that I am lucky to call my family.”
Photos from the scene showed the extent of the damage, with only charred remains left standing. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
