A large fight involving 16 inmates at Auburn Correctional Facility was broken up with chemical agents and pepper spray, according to the New York State Department of Corrections & Community Supervision.

The altercation occurred on March 15 when inmates ignored orders to stop. Officers recovered several weapons during the incident. One officer suffered minor injuries and was hospitalized, while others sustained less severe wounds.

As a result, all recreational activities were suspended for the weekend but resumed on Monday.
