The Canandaigua Zoning Board of Appeals will convene this Wednesday, March 19, at 7 p.m. to review two variance applications, including a request for a privacy fence and a proposal to convert a single-family home into a multifamily dwelling.
The meeting, held in the Hurley Conference Room at 205 Saltonstall Street, will also be available virtually via Zoom and livestreamed on Finger Lakes TV.
The first application, submitted by Dana Norman and Grant Davis for 163 Chapel Street, seeks an area variance to construct a six-foot privacy fence within five feet of the Pleasant Street frontage. Current zoning regulations prohibit fences taller than three feet within 25 feet of a street line.
The second application, submitted by Jon Bagley for 99 Gorham Street, requests a use variance to convert the existing structure into a four-unit multifamily dwelling. The property is located in an R-1B single-family zone, where multifamily dwellings are not permitted under current zoning laws.
The board will also address other miscellaneous matters before adjourning.
Residents interested in attending virtually can join via Zoom at this link or watch the live stream on Finger Lakes TV.
