Senator Pam Helming recognized 25 exceptional high school juniors from across the 54th Senate District with the 2025 Youth Leadership Recognition Award during a ceremony on March 7.
The annual program celebrates students who excel in academics, athletics, music, arts, and community service. Nominees were selected by their educators and school counselors for their leadership and commitment to making a positive impact in their communities.
“The students recognized today possess extraordinary leadership qualities and a determination to positively impact the lives of others and enhance the success of their communities,” said Helming. “They are truly raising the bar and serve as an inspiration to us all. These young people are not just the leaders of tomorrow, they are the leaders of today.”

This year’s honorees represent schools from Livingston, Wayne, Ontario, and Monroe counties.
By recognizing these young leaders, Helming aims to encourage students to continue their pursuit of excellence and inspire their peers to take on leadership roles in their schools and communities.
