The Auburn Chamber Orchestra (ACO) will transport audiences to the silver screen with its upcoming “Pops Concert: Let’s Go To The Movies!” on April 6 at The REV/Merry-Go-Round Playhouse in Auburn.
Under the baton of Dr. Victor Vallo, Jr., the orchestra will perform iconic film scores from beloved blockbusters, including Star Wars, Jurassic Park, James Bond 007, Pirates of the Caribbean, Batman, Dances with Wolves, Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, Band of Brothers, and Somewhere in Time.
Now in its 38th season, the ACO features musicians from diverse backgrounds and communities. This year’s concert will also highlight Auburn’s historical connection to sound-on-film technology. Haley Boothe, Curator at the Cayuga Museum, will serve as guest announcer as the museum raises funds for a downtown mural honoring Ted Case, a pioneer of sound-on-film innovation.
The concert is free and open to the public, with donations welcome. The performance begins at 2 p.m. at 6877 East Lake Road in Auburn. More details can be found at www.auburnchamberorchestra.com.
