Local entrepreneurs Jason and Jody Calder have expanded their event business by acquiring Blue Heron Hills, now renamed The Ballroom at Windward Lake and Blue Heron Golf Club, according to the Times of Wayne County.
The couple, known for revitalizing The Ballroom at Carey Lake, plans to modernize the decades-old clubhouse while preserving its history. A six-week renovation will expand dining areas, upgrade aesthetics, and enhance amenities.
Beyond banquets, the Calders are investing in the golf experience, retaining key staff and planning early tee times, additional beverage carts, and community-focused events like live music and outdoor concerts. A future restaurant, bridal suites, and an ice cream shop are also in the works.
