Bristol Volunteer Fire Department reports 21 calls in February, urges winter driving caution

  • / Updated:
  • Staff Report

The Bristol Volunteer Fire Department responded to 21 incidents in February, including multiple motor vehicle accidents, house fires, and emergency medical calls.

According to the department’s report, firefighters assisted with three motor vehicle accidents and provided mutual aid for two house fires and a high-angle rescue in neighboring districts. Additionally, the department responded to nine calls for EMS assistance.

With winter conditions still a concern, the department is reminding residents to remain cautious on the roads. “Winter is not quite over yet, despite the loss of most of our snow cover,” the statement read. Fire officials also warned that ongoing salt shortages could make roads more hazardous in icy conditions.

Drivers are urged to remain vigilant and adjust their speed accordingly to help prevent accidents as the season transitions.
