Firefighters from multiple departments responded to a house fire on Border City Road in Seneca County, bringing the situation under control after several hours.
According to reports from Cayuga/Seneca Fire Wire, Waterloo Fire, Geneva RIT, and North Seneca Ambulance were dispatched to the scene to battle the fire. Initial reports indicated smoke was showing as first responders arrived on scene.
Responding units included multiple fire engines and trucks from Geneva and Waterloo, as well as North Seneca Ambulance for medical support. As crews worked to contain the fire, they vented the roof to clear smoke from the structure. NYSEG also arrived on the scene to assist with any utility-related concerns.
Despite the fire’s intensity, crews managed to bring it under control, preventing further damage or spread to nearby properties. There were no immediate reports of injuries.
The cause of the fire has not yet been determined. Local authorities are expected to investigate the incident further.
